… a documentary film about the evolution of democracy and how important freedom of the press is to our liberty.
In 1560, before Europeans reached the northern shores of America, several tribes war with each other so much that their oral tradition called it the dark times. Then a visionary said these enemies needed to find a way to come together or their people wouldn’t survive. So, the leaders designed a new way of doing government, America’s first democracy. It was a great experiment, and it worked. This group of nations today is known as the Iroquois.
In 1736, the Iroquois introduced their form of government to Benjamin Franklin; he was just thirty years old. By 1776, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and others formed the United States of America and, like the Iroquois, they too developed a democracy, one in which all men were created equal.
But liberty for all derailed when forces that built America also bound its minorities. It would take extraordinary events and the press to finally free the people.

… not even the kids themselves.
For six years, a group of black children walked into restaurant, sat at the lunch counter and asked for service. It never got violent, it never made national news but these kids desegregated every restaurant in Oklahoma City except one before the 1964 Civil Rights Act was made into law.
Children of the Civil Rights documentary film shares their six year odyssey to freedom.

Most of us know someone who collects –30% of Americans do–and we love them anyway. But what drives obsessions such as this? That is the beating heart and prime directive of this verity documentary that examines the relationship between people and their objet du d’esir.
American Collectors is a film about people who collect things. From axes and guitars to bobble heads and a giant ball of string, our proclivity to collect often means more than meets the eye.
